GPS Tracking for Employees and Lone Workers

What is a Lone worker?

The Health & Safety Executive defines a LONE WORKER as a person working by themselves, autonomously without direct or close supervision. These can include:

People working away from a fixed base - mobile workers, sales teams, technical field staff, delivery personnel, maintenance workers, health care workers, environmental inspectors

People working separately or outside normal hours - security staff, cleaners and maintenance & repair staff

People working alone from a fixed location - such as a shop, petrol station or kiosk.

The adoption of new technologies are leading to changes in working practices, which means more people are working alone for at least part of the time.

WEARABOUTZ tailored solutions for Lone Workers include:

• Remote identification of an employee’s position using GPS positioning and GPRS (always on communications) over the cellular GSM network. The device held by the employee is called an LRT device.
• The ability for the employer to monitor the health and safety of the employee through voice communication and up to the minute location on a PC web browser. We call this feature LIVE! Real Time Tracking.
• The use of secure SMS text from an authorised mobile phone by the employer’s representative to 'request a location' We call this feature Location Reporting. We have customer’s using this facility as far away as New Zealand, Australia and Asia and the response time is less than 20 seconds! The reported position is in the form of an http (web browser link) which can within seconds be inputted into our Mapping Software at Mywearaboutz or directly thru Google Earth/Maps,  and the location of an employee found (depending on the nature of the location, but on average within 10 metres or so).
• The employee has the facility to to send SMS and dial a restricted number of company phone numbers.
• The employee can instigate an AMBER alert which would facilitate an authorised company representative to 'monitor in stealth' any verbal interaction at the employee’s location.
• The employee can instigate a RED alert (SOS) which is sent to up to 5 pre-allocated emergency numbers.
• The employer can also set a virtual Electric Fence (called a W-Zone) which in essence is a geographical radius from a pre-determined centre. Once the employee breaks or enters this SAFETY ZONE an alarm on the Web Map and an SMS is sent back to the employer.
• Wearaboutz can customise the service or arrange outsourcing.
• With some of our devices you can also keep a check of mobile staff while driving and obtain reports on speed within vehicles.

 Mywearaboutz Mapping Software

The Wearaboutz LRT devices are simple to configure, use mobile phone type USB chargers and also have the ability to be charged and powered by a vehicle 12vdc cigarette charger.

LRT devices can carried during working hours and be set to be left inside company cars overnight and will report instantly should a vehicle be stolen and moved. The device will then provide 'on the move' location reporting for the police to locate and recover.
